Sources of error for circular motion/centripetal force lab ...

Feb 12, 2013· So the lab involves swinging a string (w/ rubber stopped attached to it) in a circular motion. A stopwatch is used to measure the time it takes for the rubber stopper to make 10 revolutions. What are the possible sources of error? I know the obvious errors are like the stopwatch not calibrated correctly, etc. but what are the other errors?

Relationship between the centripetal acceleration and the ...

Circular Motion Abstract Centripetal acceleration is the force that we feel when an object is undergoing an uniform circular motion such as when going around a curve, or on a loop to loop roller coaster. It is the force that keeps an object in a circular motion. Without it, Earth would move in a straight line and satellites would fall out of ...

Introduction - Physics labs

This lab discusses Centripetal Force and uniform circular motion. Uniform circular motion is "motion that occurs when an object has constant speed and a constant radius" (2). Circular motion only occurs when an object is traveling in a circular path or an arc. Objects that are in uniform circular motion are experiencing acceleration.

Analyzing Uniform Circular Motion - Marked by Teachers

Lab Report: Analysing Uniform Circular Motion . Name: Adam. Purpose. In places where the velocity of an object is difficult to find, it is reliable to attain the frequency of an object. This is the most-favourable method used when dealing with circular motion. Frequency, as we know, is indirectly proportional to the period of a motion, or more ...

Join the ladybug in an exploration of rotational motion. Rotate the merry-go-round to change its angle, or choose a constant angular velocity or angular acceleration. Explore how circular motion relates to the bug's x,y position, velocity, and acceleration using vectors or graphs.

Uniform Circular Motion—Inquiry Lab Kit for AP® Physics 1

In the Uniform Circular Motion Inquiry Lab Kit for AP® Physics 1, investigate the force that causes an object to constantly change direction as it travels in a circle.

Physics Lab Report #1 - Zeeshan Hussain ID 1001298931 Bui ...

Zeeshan Hussain ID: 1001298931 Bui Introduction: In this lab uniform circular motion was explored. The centripetal force a body experiences when moving in a constant circular path is dependent on its constant speed, mass, and radius from the path's center. In today's experiment the radius, mass, and centripetal force the object experiences will be controlled, and the speed will be ...

PHY 133 Lab 5 - Centripetal Motion [Stony Brook Physics ...

Circular motion is motion in two dimensions characterized by a circular path. Since the direction of motion of an object following uniform circular motion is constantly changing, its linear velocity vector $vec v$ also changes its direction, but not its magnitude $|vec v|=v$ (remember that a vector has magnitude and direction).

Dec 06, 2009· I am writing a lab report on an experiment we did on Uniform Circular Motion in class the other day.. So what we did was basically take a piece of string, tie a mass on one end of the string, poke the string through a straw, and tie the other end of the string to a large paper clip that will stop the string from being pulled all the way out when we swung it above our heads.
